Hello Everyone,

I’m back from a two week break, feeling refreshed and ready to go... I hope you have been having fun while I’ve been away?

Look at what Sweetheart gave to me so that I could count down the days to Christmas. Do you follow the advent calendar tradition?

Jean-Pierre Rosselet...Skin Expert

Hello ladies (gents, welcome too)!

Today I want to talk about a little known brand - Jean-Pierre Rosselet, a swiss brand that has been in existence for 32 years. Indeed, after having presented my “My Favourites” last August, I prepared this article. I have been using this Deep Cleansing Peeling Mask for many years now and it is fabulous.

It  is thanks to my beautician that I got to know their range of face care products. I chose this mask since it amazed me because it is a purifying peeling mask and that’s what my skin needs.

This Deep Cleansing Peeling Mask is sold in a 50 ml pot which does not take much room in your holiday packing. This two-in-one product was specifically created to cleanse combination skin. The nourishing mask with a highly active mint perfume is a true burst of freshness on the skin. In addition, it does not contain parabens.

Personally, I use it once a week after washing my face. I put a bit of Peeling Mask with a little water in the palm of my hand, then I apply it to my face and massage gently with my fingertips using circular movements. I then leave the product to work for 15-20 minutes as a cosmetic mask.

Once I rinse the product off, my skin is matte, looks very soft and is much clearer. Indeed, with use over time, it removes impurities and makes my pores less visible by tightening the skin, which is smoother, more uniform and radiant!

In short, this Deep Cleansing Peeling Mask is excellent and good value for money (it costs CHF 25.00)

It is available for sale exclusively in some beauty salons, but you can order it via the internet.

When you find the ONE... stop searching

If you have been following my blog for a while, you may remember the review of this body cream…

Well, over time, it has become my favourite body cream...I love the smell (fresh and sweet), texture (creamy and not greasy) and the convenient packaging.

With age and the frequent practice of swimming, my skin is drier than before and this body cream is my perfect ally, I am a huge fan. I have explored other moisturisers and oils, but this one remains the best…A true marvel.

In case you are looking for a beauty product winner…This is my suggestion to you ladies.

This post, like all my blog posts, is not sponsored. It is just me sharing my lovely finds. You are welcome!

A superb moisturiser for less than 12 euro, is it possible?

Drinking water, eating fruit and vegetables, sleeping well and skin cleansing are excellent routines for healthy and beautiful skin.

But our faces also need a good moisturiser, which is why I want to talk about this certified 100% natural cosmetic and vegan formula from a German manufacturer.

I have been using Lavera cream, in alternation with other creams, for many years now and I truly love it.

I love the creamy (and not at all oily) texture of this cream, its gentle scent and its simple and practical packaging, Above all, I LOVE its price - less than Euro 12.00!

At the moment I am using these two along with the Caudelia serum.. They are my best skin care allies…

Lavera Basis Sensitive Moisturising Cream - Aloe Vera (50 ml)
*This intensive moisturiser for normal skin provides long-lasting moisture, soothes and softens the skin and makes it healthy and radiant as well as protecting against premature ageing.

Lavera Mattifying Balancing Cream with Organic Green Tea & Calendula (50 ml)
*For a matte complexion all day: this cream perfectly moisturises and reduces the brightness of the skin. With its harmonising properties, it regulates excess sebum for an even complexion.

My Favourites

Hello ladies, hope you are not to sad now that the holiday season comes to an end. Honestly, I am excited to welcome September…

For today, it is an article composed of a small selection of beauty products/cosmetics that I truly adore. Clarins remains my favourite brand since my eighteens but from time to time, I let myself be tempted by new products.

Notably, Melrose Skincare-Multipurpose Skin. This British efficient cream/balm is not known by the majority of you. It is to be applied on the rough skin, for inflamed, sore, flaky, painful split heels and for softening hard skin. It is through Sweetheart I discovered it because the women in his family use it.

Jean-Pierre Rosselet, a fabulous peeling mask (exfoliation and nourishing mask) – I will review it soon.

Caudalie The Elixir serum (review done on May 20th).

Chanel n°5 which I have been using over a year now, has the most sublime scents.

As I do not wear make-up, a lipstick is all I need. I love the Rose Envy by Estée Lauder. For a touch of fantasy this Brazilian Andreia red nails polish.

Last but not least, because I love books, this tiny cute book is full of truth; it has practical advice to learn how to seduce, after all seduction is the first step to find love. I have offered it to a friend of mine, a heart to take. Fingers crossed that it works…In the picture it says Do not fear failure…

Et voilà. I wish you a gorgeous week.

Caudalie Premier Cru The Elixir

Hello ladies! Today, I review a phenomenal product! When my Clarins serum finished a few months ago, I bought this serum by Caudalie - known as the Rolls Royce of serums.

Some time ago, I was offered a sample which I used for a week and was seduced by it...This is how I became familiar with Caudalie, a French skincare brand.

So let me tell you why this serum has impressed me and has been a pleasure to incorporate into my skin care regime.

The texture: half dry oil (non-greasy) and half serum.

The scent: a subtle smell of roses and lovely essential oils.

The result: I have sensitive combined skin and every night I apply 4 drops on my face and neck before my moisturiser. Since then I’ve noticed that I wake up with a more glowing skin.

In addition, The Elixir is a 99.5% natural anti-aging product and it is not tested on animals. It helps to target deep wrinkles and age spots and it firms and nourishes the skin.

The presentation/packaging is chic. The thin glass bottle has a dropper/applicator that is easy to use and avoids waste. It is going to last a while.

This is definitely a luxury product, but well worth the price. Caudalie Premier Cru The Elixir (29ml, CHF 74.00) is available at all good pharmacies.

Et voilà, job done.

Now, tell me, have you tried this? Are you a fan of Caudalie?

Clinique Sonic System purifying cleansing brush

Hello ladies, I have been wanting to do this article to tell you about my favourite beauty  appliance for some time now! I have been hugely enthusiastic about the Clinique Sonic System purifying cleansing brush since the first time I tried it. I have been using this brush as it should be, every evening, for a year now...Now I feel I can finally tell you all about this marvellous tool and I would definitely recommend this product to you ladies.

In the past, I've never really been tempted by this type of product because I was apprehensive.
I have extremely sensitive and reactive skin and I simply thought that a brush would not really do any good to my skin.

In April of last year, I went to Marionnaud to take advantage of 20% discounts and bought a new perfume, Chanel No. 5. The sales lady explained all the advantages of this brush which CLINIQUE had released recently. I was won over by the fact that it was developed by a dermatologist in Switzerland and I was seduced by its small size, convenience, affordable price and effectiveness. I thoroughly enjoy this brush! Using it daily in the evening for just 30 seconds, my skin is smoother and healthy looking. My moisturiser seems to have a better effect in my skin. The timer feature is very good. I have never noticed any skin irritation at all, even after the very first use. It is very gentle and yet so effective. I cannot think of anything negative to say.

Clinique Sonic System purifying cleansing brush, what is it?
It is an innovative sonic facial cleansing brush, dermatologist-developed and Swiss-engineered. It's waterproof and can be used for all skin types.

This brush is used for what?
The Sonic movement offers deep yet gentle cleansing. The angled tip targets the T-zone and other hard-to-reach areas and allows the skin to regenerate better by removing makeup, impurities, sebum and pollution. This reduces clogged pores, spots and imperfections. The skin becomes healthier with less dryness-related wrinkles, because the skin cleansing optimises the efficiency of any treatments that are applied afterwards.

How is it used?
*Use once daily for 30 seconds (and no more than 60 seconds).
*Apply cleanser to moistened skin or on the brush head.
*Massage in a circular motion for 15 seconds on the cheeks using the white bristles.
*Massage in an up-and-down motion for 15 seconds on the T-zone using the green bristles.
*Rinse, pat dry and moisturise your face. Rinse the brush head after each use.

How much does it cost?
Clinique purifying cleansing brush: CHF 137.00 at Marionnaud
Purifying cleansing brush head: CHF 22.90 (replace every 3-4 months for best results)
Worth every penny!!!

O Boticário...with fun from Brazil

Last June I spent a wonderful holiday in Portugal (Lagos and Lisbon). Mum and I went to the Colombo Shopping Centre and I felt intrigued by an attractive shop. The sales assistant invited us inside to look at their promotions. She had a lovely Brazilian accent and generously explained to us the benefits of their products. Since I was planning to create a blog, I took some photos to illustrate my article.

O Boticário is a famous Brazilian cosmetics brand, launched nearly 40 years ago. They use Brazilian and South American tropical fruits, nuts, herbs, etc. to create beauty products for men and women. Personally, I would say they have the same style as Body Shop, but cheaper.

I bought these four products on promotion, but I have only used two of them so far. I can tell you that I am loving them both and that is why I decided to talk about their products.

Nativa Spa Pitaya Exfoliating Sugar Scrub (290g)
Enables moisturising through the oil contained in the exfoliating sugar whilst also renewing the skin through its gentle exfoliation. Leaves the body with an oil filter and a sublime smell.

Nativa Spa Refreshing Lemon Balm and Rosemary Moisturising Hand Cream (75g)
Enriched with minerals that protect your skin from external aggressions and increase nail resistance, protecting them and leaving them stronger.

Nativa SPA Moisturising and Nourishing Flan with Açaí (250g)
Moisturise your body with the nutrients from açaí and feel your skin becoming soft and invigorated and all this with the delicious aroma of this exotic fruit.

Native SPA Vinotherapy Exfoliating Body Oil (250ml)
It has a formula rich in antioxidants with grape seed microparticles and 100% vegetable oils. In addition to eliminating dead cells, eliminating roughness and stimulating cell renewal, it deeply hydrates for up to 30 hours

O Boticário is present in 10 countries, namely Brazil, Portugal, Venezuela, Paraguay, Colombia, Mozambique, Angola, Saudi Arabia, Japan and the United States.

I have noticed that my dear readers are big should you go to Brazil or to Portugal don't hesitate to visit one of their shops.  Failing this you can buy online from Portugal at

Did you know that Portugal is in the top 5 most visited European countries? Check my July posts for tips.

Hope you enjoyed this little tropical tour.

A Minimalist Beauty Basket

Bonjour ladies! This is a quick hello to present my beauty basket to you. Rummaging through my camera I found this series of photos of my minimalist beauty products which I took last April.

From the pictures you can tell that Clarins has won my heart. I am very familiar with this excellent brand of cosmetics. I must say that it's a love story that has lasted since I was eighteen, when I was a student in the country of Shakespeare.

However, some of these products, once finished, have been replaced by others. Maybe you still remember my product reviews - Elona snail cream, Chanel No 5 which replaced Diva by Ungaro... Elixir serum by Caudalie (the post is coming out soon).

It is obvious that I have clearly come out of my comfort zone. I do believe this is partly thanks to blogging... I am more willing to try new things and it has been a beneficial experience for me.

What about you? Are you faithful to a brand? Would you like to share a wonderful new discovery?

I wish you a fabulous Wednesday.

Ayurveda massage given by an Indian practitioner, Mr. Tiwari

If you expect a chic salon with designer furniture and all the trappings, let me set you straight on this point right away. The salon is in an apartment shared with another health institute: the space is unpretentious, clean, quiet and cosy. However, if you want to enjoy an excellent Ayurveda massage, then you have come to the right place: a good address, made popular by word of mouth. You may have to wait for an appointment because it is often fully booked, despite its relatively high cost (worth every penny, to my mind!).

I go there from time to time, only when I need it, and have always experienced a quality moment of well-being with Mr. Tiwari, a peaceful man with a lovely smile, as well as being a brilliant practitioner of Ayurveda. Before your massage you do a short yoga relaxation session with him, then your warm oil massage begins.

I recommend Mr. Tiwari to you if you want to explore Ayurvedic medicine, also called Ayurveda, which originated in India several thousand years ago. Ayurveda means “the science of life.” Its aim is to integrate and balance the body, mind, and spirit, to help prevent illness and promote wellbeing.

Make Up

My taste for make-up is very limited; it doesn’t really interest me! Nevertheless, for very special occasions, I make a little effort…To summarise, my makeup kit includes seven items that are still almost new.

So, from time to time, I put on the ever versatile red lipstick to give a twist to my look. At other times I wear a pink shade of lipstick or a transparent lip gloss. I also wear black mascara for sensitive eyes. I have a BB foundation cream (used only once), I prefer the Nuxe "healthy glow" effect powder for sensitive skin.

However, I must admit that my preference is just red lipstick! In Gwyneth Paltrow’s words, “Beauty, to me, is about being comfortable in your own skin. That or a kick-ass red lipstick”. I couldn't agree more with that.

My tiny kit includes:
Multi-Usage Compact Bronzing Powder, Nuxe
Beauty Balm Hydra Zen 4, Lancôme
Mascara Respectissime, La Roche- Posay

Envy Sculpting lipstick, Estée Lauder

Rose Envy Christal Shimmer, Estée Lauder

Gloss Ocean Shimmer, Chanel

… and this Christmas gift Gossamer Emotion Red by Kiko Milano

Elizabeth Arden Green Tea Honey Drops Body Cream

Hello ladies, I have a divine cream suggestion for you, it is Elizabeth Arden Green Tea Honey Drops Body Cream.

Those who follow this blog know that I swim and thus need a rich body cream for my dry skin. I am addicted to this cream since I first tried it over a month ago. I bought a 500ml jar for CHF 27.00 before catching my flight. It was on promotion at Geneva Airport.

I love the texture, rich but not heavy, yet still thick enough to hydrate and nourish the skin perfectly. It is quickly absorbed; my skin just feels soft and smooth. I also love its fresh smell, both sensual and relaxing. The green tea scent is subtle and the honey makes it voluptuous.

This was my gift to me for Christmas. From time to time it is important to give yourself a treat. If you find it on discount, it is worth purchasing. I think you will love it!

This post, like all my blog posts, is not sponsored.

DIY - Christmas Tin Baskets

For Christmas, I thought of sharing with you the idea of a Do It Yourself tin gift basket, which is a fun, easy and quick activity. It is also a way of making a special gesture for someone special to show how much you care…

Start by choosing a theme, select a few products accordingly, buy a nice tin basket and arrange it beautifully. Et voila, job done!

The two tin baskets shown here were prepared a while ago, but with a touch of Christmas decoration, they would be perfect for now. I hope you like this post and that it inspires you.

Birthday gift in a kit tin...
My mum is a very discreet and private, so I'll say just that she is wonderfully kind and has a passion for aquagym which she attends religiously three times a week. Come rain, cold or storm, she doesn’t miss a lesson. So, for her birthday a few months ago, I offered her a nice gift accompanied by this little kit in a tin that I put together. She adores Naturaline cosmetics from Coop City Shop. Thus, I selected a few products for her aquagym and I added two of her favourite dark chocolate bars.

For the birthday kit I used:
A medium tin basket (I bought mine at L'échappée belle)
Basil/Lemongrass shower gel
Mint/Bamboo body lotion
Rhododendron of the Alps daytime anti-aging cream
Macadamia oil and pomegranate extract lip balm
Shower cap
Massage flower
Villars candied orange peel dark chocolate bar
Villars whole hazelnut dark chocolate bar

Spa gift in a kit tin...
A few months ago, I was pleased to receive a visit from a dear friend who lives abroad. She is very feminine with a penchant for spa: cosmetics and all girly things. I thought a spa gift in a kit tin was without contest the best choice. My friend adored this gift basket – just as I took pleasure in arranging it for her.  She is a real ray of sunshine.

For the spa kit I used:
A small tin basket (I bought mine at L'échappée belle)
Claudalie “Thé des Vignes” shower gel
Bag of orange blossom bath crystals, (Autour du Bain)
Linen and cotton massage glove (Autour du Bain)
Maybelline wine shimmer nail polish
Naturaline lavender feet moisturiser
