The
first Sunday of January we were treated to a radiant sun in the morning. After
grey and rainy days, the sun woke us up at 8:00.
So,
after breakfast, I took my faithful comrade - Mr Nikon - for a long walk into
town.
It was
nice to still see the Christmas decorations in the shops and restaurants: they
warmed my heart!
I came
across a multitude of people: joggers
trying hard to accomplish their New Year resolutions... and tourists capturing
the last moments of their holidays. There were good vibrations in town... only
happy faces!
I hope
this year will be filled with joy and peace for all of us, just like that sunny
Sunday morning.
Have a
sweet Wednesday!
That's a great shot with the building reflected in the water.
ReplyDeleteThanks Monica:) This is also my favourite photo! The edifice - Bâtiment des Forces Motrices - appears to be floating on the river. This edifice was built between 1883 and 1892, in the middle of the Rhône river-bed. It had an hydraulic system for distributing water to the city. In 1997, this factory became a theater. I love this neighborhood, Quai du Sujet and Stand.
DeleteI love it when they turn old buildings into places for the arts. There are quite a few of these turn-arounds in Australia.
ReplyDeleteGood to know ;-)
DeleteA lovely collection of photos that capture the atmosphere of your sunny stroll. I, too, am drawn to the photo with the water reflection, but I also admire the effect of the sun on the building in the first two pictures.
ReplyDeleteHello dear! The Temple de Carouge is a really impressive building in the bohemian, old Mediterranean neighbourhood of Carouge. My favourite quarter of Geneva, it is overflowing with charm.
DeleteGorgeous clicks! You live in a very beautiful city!
