It’s a wonderful city PART 1

This is what I think about Lisbon when I contemplate the monuments, the public gardens, the Atlantic sea, the climate, the flowers, the gastronomy, the crafts, the boutiques, the people... I never tire of coming back!

I returned to Geneva just over a week ago and I already miss this wonderful country.

I stayed in Lisbon and my days were spent peacefully with a few expeditions: visits to exhibitions, markets and fairs, all filled with much joy. The goal of these holidays was essentially to rest.

I’m going to share a summary of my two week stay with you. I captured these moments with my Sony compact camera. It is incredible how this 15 year old camera still takes good photos.

ROSSIO - BAIXA

TERREIRO DO PAçO

tejo river and Ponte 25 de Abril bridge - see from Terreiro do Paço

ALFAMA

Arco de Jesús - in Lisbon we are constantly travelling back in time

Casa de Linhares, Fado Restaurant (2, Beco Armazens do Linho, Alfama) Fantastic meal and Fado music.

Sé Libon Cathedral

Fábrica das Enguias (66, Rua da Prata, Baixa) The decoration of this store caught my attention and, when I got inside, all the beautiful tins of this delicacy (canned eels) won my heart.

Oishii Restaurant & Cocktail Bar (158, Rua dos Sapateiros, Rossio) What else do we need... good weather, good live music and good cocktails.

Praça Parquês de Pombal

Book Fair / Feira do Livro de Lisboa (Parque Eduardo VII, Marquês De Pombal) This book fair takes place each year around end-May until mid-June. This event occupies the Eduardo VII Park with book stalls and street food trucks.

ALFAMA

Miradouro das Portas do Sol - One of my favourite places in Alfama. A terrace with panoramic views over Lisbon
