Hello Ladies and Gents
I hope you have spent a good week and that
you are looking forward to having a fun weekend.
For my part, I do not have a big programme
in prospect. I have my Saturday routine (spa, swimming, pampering) and my
long walks in my beautiful little town.
Speaking of Geneva, every day (week,
month) I discover beautiful things. About a month ago I ventured into a shaded
road and, guess what?! I came across this street art in a run down area. It is
between the neighbourhoods of Acacias and Jonction. I love what these young
people do, putting colour and cheerfulness into a not very sexy place.
What do you
think? Which one do you prefer?
Pictures taken with my very old smartphone
early in the morning.
What a good selection of street art murals. Cool photos as always! The last one is my favourite :D
ReplyDeleteGlad you liked it!! The last one is quite funky :)
DeleteThere are some wonderful pieces here. A beautiful way to liven a possibly otherwise dreary street.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely :)
DeleteI like the artwork, especially the first two.
ReplyDeleteYeah, the first two are very joyful :)
DeleteWow, I haven't seen this street art in Geneva before. Thanks for the wonderful photos - I must check it out soon.
ReplyDeleteWell, they are not in the beautiful neighborhoods... they are not easily visible, what a pity!!!
DeleteThose are very impressive murals. I cannot really pick a favorite. They are all impressive.
ReplyDeleteThis is an art form that I should learn more about.
Brian, I also have to learn more about this art :)

DeleteI have enjoyed seeing Geneva through your observant and creative smartphone!! I bet your favourite mural is the girl...Lol
ReplyDeleteThanks Charles! Actually, my favourite is the Old Man :)
DeleteLove how you take time to discover your environment. It's amazing what things we discover/never noticed before. This is definitely a surprise and it's fabulous...especially love the food scenes, of course! : ) Have a great weekend...we have a little holiday break and it's supposed to be warm so it should be nice.
ReplyDeleteHello Monica, I wish you a good holiday and look forward to seeing your next post. Thank you so much for your compliment... I think we need to learn to pay attention to our surroundings!!
Beijo e bom fim-de-semana.
DeleteLove the vibrancy of these murals! Fabulous energy in the pictures!
ReplyDeleteI enjoy discovering street art and have seen great examples where were are in Spain.
You said it very well: fabulous energy in the pictures! That's what I thought when I saw them.
DeleteLovely post dear! Have a great weekend! xx
ReplyDeleteThank you very much :)
DeleteNem sei dizer de qual gosto mais...
ReplyDeleteAcho todos com uma qualidade incrível!
As fotos ficaram fantásticas, assim mesmo!
Beijinhos! Bom fim de semana!
Ana
Fico feliz que tenha gostado destes murals. Beijinhos e bom fim de semana.
DeleteThis street art is interesting. I really like graffiti and wall murals if they represent 'good.' I think my favorite on here is the girl with the swirling colors because I love rainbows. I think it is a gift when we see a rainbow. : )
ReplyDeleteHave a nice weekend pampering yourself. Sometimes we have to do that, huh?
~Sheri
The girl with the swirling colours is such a sweet mural. Thank you, Sheri :)
Sempre me pareceu encantadora.
Bom fim-de-semana. Un abbraccio.
Wow! The murals are so vibrant. Love them all.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Nasreen :)
DeleteThese walls looks amazing, I live 150 km from Geneva now, for sure I will visit this city :-)
ReplyDeleteIt's awesome Alice. If you need advice do not hesitate to send me an email or leave a message here :)
DeleteWonderful, would be great :-) Have a lovely weekend :-)
DeleteWonderful indeed :) Have a great weekend :)
DeleteI'm a great fan of street murals. I once wrote a post on the subject of a mural painter and his work in Tel Aviv. The murals displayed in your post are very different in style than his, but the idea behind them is the same - to beautify a dull, poor-looking environment.
ReplyDeleteHello Duta, send me the link of your post because I want to read it and see the mural.
DeleteI totally agree with you! When beautiful and popular sites are covered with graffiti, it can be disheartening. However, when areas that are not known for being beautiful are decorated with such colour (and often talent!), I think it's the perfect antidote and way of livening up the place:)

Gaby, I couldn't have said it better myself :)
DeleteYou have some talented street artists there!
ReplyDeleteTalented young people are everywhere :)
Deletei love the one with the girl! xx
ReplyDeleteYeah, this mural is very cute :)
DeleteHi dear! The one I prefer is the one with the girl and the bottle! =)
ReplyDeleteA big hug!
Yes, this mural is so cute...and girly :)
DeleteOh, I wanted to tell you that Jess took those pictures of Yosemite. Her and her husband just visited there recently. We always put at the bottom of our posts who wrote the post, and most of the time I post, while every now and then my girls will post something interesting. Thanks for visiting, friend. : )
ReplyDelete~Sheri
Thank you for the clarification, Sheri... I hadn't noticed.
DeleteOoh I have been to Geneva before but we didn't have a lot of time for sight seeing so I wasn't able to get to see a lot of this street art! It's nice that there is always something new to discover - these look so beautiful and well done!
ReplyDeleteWell, they are not in the beautiful neighborhoods... they are not easily visible. As I said in my post, murals bring colour and vibrancy to the dull landscape of a neighborhood.
DeleteSoooooo pretty!
ReplyDeleteFeel free to check out my blog if you'd like !
Kisses,

Welcome to my personal blog Emily and I'll take a look at your blog posts :)
DeleteI enjoy these; they liven places up! I feel you could look at them quite awhile and find something new at each glance. I sort of like the man with the spray can -- that is clever!
ReplyDeleteYeah, that one is awesome :)
DeleteMerveilleux ces street art ! ;)
ReplyDeleteContente que ça te plaise :)
