A very special delivery from ROSOLO Perfect Roses

One day in August my door rang and guess what? I had a special delivery of a sumptuous bouquet of red roses and one pink rose. I just couldn't stop looking at these beautiful flowers. When the sun went down I took these pictures to immortalise them.

I adored the distinctive packaging. The solitary pink rose and the bouquet of red roses were carefully wrapped in recyclable packaging: beautiful tissue, paper, cotton ribbon and a nice pinned card.

SO CHIC! I became a fan of Rosolo Perfect Roses. They deliver anywhere in Geneva and Vaud cantons, which is a useful service.

Question: How come I have never heard of Rosolo before? Hummm, well now it's done, and I am more than happy to share the "news" with you all, I mean with the gents. My darlings never underestimate the power of flowers...it does wonders for women!!!

Strolling in the beautiful village of Dardagny

Last Thursday was a public holiday and we enjoyed a beautiful calm day in the quiet picture postcard village of Dardagny.

I can think of no better way to spend a day off than heading to a fabulous village, enjoying a stroll and then having a lovely meal in a gorgeous restaurant with a pleasant atmosphere. We had local products for lunch at Auberge de Dardagny (I am still dreaming of the heavenly plum tart with vanilla ice cream). After lunch we went for a long walk visiting the village and the vineyards. On our way we saw the Town Hall, which is in fact an imposing “château”.

If you are a lover of good wine do not hesitate to explore this sublime area and its wineries. Dardagny (16 km from Geneva) is essentially an agricultural and wine-growing commune that counts around 1500 inhabitants, with 600 souls living in the village itself. It was named the most beautiful village in Switzerland in 2015.

EVENT this weekend: Russin Grape Harvest Festival "Fête des Vendanges de Russin" on the weekend of 18th-20th of September from 11:30 to 3:00

Regarding my look, I was in the mood for comfortable chic: bordeaux tunic, trench coat and leopard ankle boots with an orange baby bag from my favourite accessory shop, Code43.

Penhaligon’s London - Burlington Arcade

Especially for men! Ladies are welcome too…

While I was writing my posts, I thought “Hold on a minute, why not write something for my gentlemen readers?” They aren’t numerous but are assiduous and I always get words of encouragement from them!

On my last day in London I headed to Burlington Arcade to get a gift for a very special person. At Penhaligon’s I was received by two smiling ladies and was able to try many fragrances. One seduced me straight away and my choice was made.

If memory serves me right, the sales person told me that this barber arrived in London in 1860 from his little town. He was seeking fortune and his ambition and perseverance, along with his creativity, did the rest. William Penhaligon founded his perfume house in 1870. Mr Penhaligon built a reputation for his unique approach to fine perfumery. He became the perfumer to royal families throughout Europe.

From time to time is important to get something unique for somebody special to you: a husband, a wonderful boyfriend or a gift for Father’s Day. It is a small gesture but it shows the person that you are thinking of them, you care for them and you want to please them. Nothing in this world should ever be taken for granted. If we ladies like to be treated like princesses and receive flowers, men are just the same, trust me! They simply tend not to show their sensitivity, a question of education, I guess!

So, my dearest male readers, I really hope you enjoyed this post dedicated to you!!

A Fabulous Bookstore in London

Bookstores are among the favorite places I like to visit for the calm that reigns within and the knowledge that they contain. Therefore, during my stay in London, I simply couldn’t miss calling in at Hatchards.

Hatchards is one of the best bookshops in the world. It has been trading since 1797 and is the most aristocratic bookstore in Britain. Not only does it boast three royal warrants, meaning it supplies books to Her Majesty, it has counted Disraeli, Wilde and Byron among its regular customers. Today it retains the spirit of days past with a period interior.
