A Fabulous Bookstore in London

Bookstores are among the favorite places I like to visit for the calm that reigns within and the knowledge that they contain. Therefore, during my stay in London, I simply couldn’t miss calling in at Hatchards.

Hatchards is one of the best bookshops in the world. It has been trading since 1797 and is the most aristocratic bookstore in Britain. Not only does it boast three royal warrants, meaning it supplies books to Her Majesty, it has counted Disraeli, Wilde and Byron among its regular customers. Today it retains the spirit of days past with a period interior.

    1. It is very welcoming despite the coming and going of the customers. A great feeling of serenity reigns there. The magic of words seems to calm people. I particularly like the corner reserved for children ;-)
