London is a magical city, you can spend a
whole year here and still not know it well.
Being here for five days I really wanted
to be located in the heart of the city to feel its pulse and enjoy every bit of
my old friend London at its fullest.
Royal Horseguards attracted me straight
away when it was warmly recommended by a lady of good taste. After reading the
description I was totally conquered.
Let me tell you that my feeling was right.
I had such a great time while I was there. I literally would get up very early
and go to bed late. There was so much to see, so much to do...to enjoy as if
tomorrow did not exist.
By the time I was back at the hotel all I
wanted to do was to rest in my sumptuous deluxe room, wonderfully decorated, a
perfect mix of contemporary and old English styles with the latest and finest
essential technologies. I had a crush on the Egyptian linen and of course, my
"pêché mignon", Elemis, Goldcrest and L'Occitane beauty products,
provided daily.
The Royal Horseguards hotel made my stay
special. The friendly and efficient staff made it feel grand. Apart from the
service, I liked the stunning views overlooking the gardens and the Thames from
my bedroom, I adored the varied and exquisite breakfast at the One Twenty One Two Restaurant, I liked
the Equus Bar where I tasted the
Churchill cocktail, named after a famous former guest. Being in London it would
be criminal not to enjoy afternoon tea, which I did in The Lounge, in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. Their afternoon
tea is among the best in town, being a multiple award winning dining
experience.
I strongly recommend The Royal Horseguards
hotel to you, located in the heart of London, with easy access to all of the
main tourist attractions in central London such as the London Eye, Big Ben, the
National Gallery, Buckingham Palace and much more. All are short walking distance
or minutes by cab. What else can one ask the Lord?
Here are some of the photos I took of the
hotel and my room during my stay.

Just to clarify, no, this is not a
sponsored post. It’s just me sharing my favourite place in case you are
wondering where to stay or chill out in a gorgeous Bar/Lounge/Restaurant. You
are welcome!
Having had the pleasure of staying at the Royal Horseguards on business, I can only agree with the Reader on this one. The hotel has been tastefully refurbished without losing its intimate London club feel and it is perfectly situated. Well worth a visit!
ReplyDeleteThank you for your kind comment...I wish I worked in a company that sent me to nice hotels on business!!! Have a lovely weekend ; -)
ReplyDeleteI'm afraid my employer has revised its approved hotel list. Thanks to our skinflint parent company, which shall remain nameless, the Royal Horseguards is no longer on the list :-((((.
ReplyDeleteI now have to go to a tawdry, soulless place half way down the Strand (no, no,obviously not the Savoy, but good taste constrains me from naming the flea pit concerned).
Sorry for only replying now...It is tough to stay in awful hotels, especially when one is on a business trip...Thanks for sharing ;-)
ReplyDeleteTu as beaucoup de chance de découvrir des endroits luxueux comme celui-ci. Merci pour la bonne adresse.
