Swiss National Day - August 1st

The “Fête Nationale Suisse” on August 1st is the national holiday of Switzerland. And that means three weeks of festivities that attracts around 3 million visitors.

The Geneva celebrations include hundreds of concerts and activities, a huge funfair, more than 200 food stalls, as well as arts and crafts stands… It is all crowned by one of the world’s most spectacular musical firework displays that lasts about 55 minutes.

This time I missed both the opening fireworks display of the Fêtes de Genève on August 1st (I was in London) and the closing fireworks on August 8th, but I can tell you that they were spectacular. During this time of the year Geneva is awesome; you don't know where to turn your head, there are so many wonders in Geneva’s Wonderland...Now you all know when to pay us a visit.

A million apologies for not showing my fireworks photos…I don’t have any.
