Sweetheart had been away and, as
soon as he returned, we took the opportunity to go out for a date... have a
drink, sit down to dinner and talk on a late summer afternoon. It was so good.
I chose this new Italian restaurant
in Acacias which opened five months ago and is excellent.
Many very nice bars and restaurants
seem to have opened recently in Acacias. Is this due to the prestigious
companies (banks, interior designers etc.) that have been established there for
some time now? Anyway, the area has
become very trendy and friendly...
This restaurant that we tried and
liked is another one to join the list of newly opened eating houses. Mangiare
Italiano is a sweet and charming Italian restaurant with a delicious menu and a
dedication to local Italian produce. It has its own food laboratory for fresh
pasta and dough, which always makes me feel very happy.
Here we were served classic Italian
dishes with quality products in an elegant environment, different from the
other Italian restaurants throughout the city. I would say that their motto is:
refinement without fuss.
One thing I liked is the cachet of
this restaurant ... There are three well harmonised areas: the bar, the back
room and the middle/front room. In summer, you can enjoy the pretty courtyard
terrace, as we did that day.
We started by toasting ourselves
with an Aperol cocktail (Aperol,
prosecco, sparkling water), then our friendly waiter brought us a selection of
very tasty Focaccia.
Aperol cocktail - such stunning
colours!
For our main courses, Sweetheart had
the Spaghetti Alle Vongole, clams,
garlic, cherry tomatoes, parsley, hot chili….
and I chose the Pizza La Gourmet, ham, buffalo
mozzarella and spinach.
This Chocolate Tiramisu was amazing. I devoured it (okay - I did give a
tiny spoonful to sweetheart just to taste…)
All the dishes were superb!
After dinner we strolled through
Acacias to a bar, where we settled at the counter for a coffee. I adore these
end of summer evenings, warm and fresh at the same time, with beautiful street
lighting.
