Funtastik Tours - O Pirata
My first day in
Lagos was greeted by a wonderful boat trip from the Marina to the caves, along
the stunning Lagos coastline. Served by Funtastik Tours - O Pirata, Mr.
Francisco, the 63 years-old tour skipper, took me for one hour to visit the
countless riffs with different shapes that remind us of something, a fact which
earned them names such as Elephant, Titanic and Iceberg, Love, Kitchen....
I was also
enchanted to meet Mr. Francisco, a former fisherman (since he was fourteen
years of age) who knows the sea and Lagos riffs like the palm of his hands.
Although he only speaks Portuguese, he makes himself understood by all
visitors.
Off-Road Sunset Tour
My dear friend O.
planned a fantastic off-the-beaten-track rural and sunset tour in the Algarve
most stunning coastline views. We dressed in comfortable clothes because it can
get chilly and windy in those rocky shores. A jeep picked us up around 6
o’clock (it’s a three hour trip) and dropped us off around 9 o’clock.
Our first stop was
in Sagres and Marina de Sagres. Later, we headed to Praia Ponta Ruiva beach and
then to Torre de Aspa. We could admire an amazing sunset from Cape St. Vincent
lighthouse, the most south-western point in Europe. The trip included a visit to the secluded
beach of Castelejo and Cordoama, and a secret look-out on a 180m high cliff top
to see the sun set over the Atlantic.
Last but not
least, red wine was served which made it very convivial. But to tell you the
truth, my friends and I didn’t need that to fully enjoy this breathtaking tour.
In fact, we were like five-year-old kids, excited about everything we saw and
jumping everywhere; each moment was fully filled with jokes and laughs…
(I did not bring
my camera during this tour; all photos were taken with my Smartphone).
